Now and Next…

Dear All,

I hope that this finds you well!

We are having a great time at the moment, working hard, playing hard and moving forwards.  As you know our first show after finishing competitive skating was Hot Ice in Blackpool, England.  We had a great time and loved working with the team of choreographers and producers.  They believed in us so much and gave us the confidence back as performers, that we had lost towards the end of our competitive career.  Thank you to everyone that came to watch the show, we hope you enjoyed it and will continue to support us.  We have already started working on bigger and better things for next year, as we have been invited back to join the talented cast next year and we are already excited!

After Hot Ice we had three weeks well deserved rest to catch up on sleep and see friends and family and now we are currently in Pachuca, Mexico with Illusion On Ice.  This is a wonderful experience for us and yet again we are working with a different producer.  Each show brings a new dimension to our repertoire and gives us new things to learn.  In this show we are working with a magic act, hoolahoopists (if that is a word) and ourselves using props, something we didn’t/couldn’t do as competitors.  The show in itself is not as long as Hot Ice but we play 3 times a day rather than 2 and runs 7 days a week rather than 6.  The contract is short however and finishes on the 21st of October when we return to the UK.  It is so nice to meet new, talented people and we have been so lucky with both of our recent jobs that people have been so genuinely willing to help us and guide us in our new career direction.  We will always be grateful of this.

Our next performance commitment will be Phantasialand, Germany – 3rd November-12th January, where we will be principals in a small cast of 8 skaters.  This is a very exciting contract for us, as it is over three months and now that we have found our feet so to speak, refining and adapting our skills, we really feel we have a lot to give to this project.  We believe it will be rather cold at this time of year in Germany, as you would expect, so I am getting somewhat stressed out as to how many jumpers and thermals to pack – how girly!  We will actually be working Christmas Day which will be very strange for us but as we have been back in the UK more recently and seeing our family regularly so we don’t feel quite as bad about this.

We have some very exciting dates for you to put in your diary in the meantime!  We will be guest coaching in between our performance contracts.  This is a chance for all you fellow skaters to get involved and join our world somewhat.

As you well know we are living the dream and appreciate you following us on our way.  We have always said that our friends, family and fans are a huge part of our team and that continues now in our professional career.  The great bit about our job now is that we can give so much more back to our sport and fans.

As usual we thank you for your continued support and hope to hear/see you soon.

Lots of love.

Louise
