Walden & Edwards – Looking to the future…

To our loyal fans and supporters,

The past year has gone by in a flash and there have been some big changes for us in a relatively short space of time. We’ve achieved so much both on and off the ice, including launching our new Six Point Zero retail website and the updated Walden & Edwards team website; relocating our training from France to New Jersey and radically overhauling our competition routines – the list goes on.

All this change has made us pretty good at spinning plates, but we don’t want to drop any and ruin our hard work. For this reason, we have reached the decision to no longer compete as Team GB athletes. Although it has been our dream to represent our country as British Olympic Ice Dancers, our recent ventures have helped us realise our other dreams. There are many opportunities available to us right now and we feel that we would be doing ourselves an injustice by turning these down at this stage in our career.

We couldn’t have come as far as we have without the support of our fantastic coaches, fans, friends, family and fellow ice dancers, but now we believe it is the right time to return the favour and focus our energies on giving something back to the sport. We have a strong desire to make a difference by developing, inspiring and nurturing the British Ice Dancing stars of the future.

Our love for the sport remains and our desire to skate and perform is as strong as ever. To be able to begin our professional career with such fantastic credits such as 2011 British Ice Dance Champions, 13th in Europe, Top 20 in the World, European and World Championship Competitors, International Gold Medallists, to name but a few, is something that we can always be proud of and we couldn’t have done it without your support. We hope that you will continue to support is along our journey following our dreams, furthering our career as professionals and pushing boundaries in another direction.

We plan on freelancing somewhat with shows, promotions, coaching, choreography etc in the short term and should you wish to work with us at any point, please feel free to contact us @ louiseandowen@live.co.uk.

We thank each and every one of you again for your unconditional support. Although this is the closing chapter for our Team GB competitive career, it is just the start of greater things for Walden & Edwards and Six Point Zero. This is not the end, it is the beginning and we are so very excited.

Watch this space!
